Aboriginal health is not just the physical wellbeing of an individual but is the social, emotional and cultural wellbeing of the whole community in which each individual is able to achieve their full potential thereby bringing about the total wellbeing of their community. It is a whole-of-life view and includes the cyclical concept of life-death-life.

about

Bourke Aboriginal Health Corporation Service (BACHS) is an accredited primary health care service operated by our local Aboriginal community to deliver holistic, comprehensive, and culturally appropriate health and dental care to community.

Our services are delivered by a dedicated clinical team that includes doctors, nurses, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health  workers/practitioners, community liaison officers, receptionists, and a wide range of visiting specialists and Allied Health professionals.

BACHS clinical services are bulk billed services, so there are no out-of-pockets expenses for medical appointments. Currently Dental & Oral Health Services are also bulk billed.

To support BACHS bulk bill, you will need a valid Medicare card. Our friendly reception staff will ask you to confirm your Medicare number and residential address at each appointment. If you need to register, add a child, renew or replace your Medicare card, our staff will be more than happy to help you.

holistic approach

We provide a “holistic” model of care to achieve better health & wellbeing outcomes for Aboriginal people. We believe that health encompasses not only your physical health, but also mental health, emotional health, connection to country and your spiritual well-being.
